We Nurture and Enrich our Faith and Love of God through Formation and Services

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Men and women that are registered parishioners in good standing in the Church, have been Baptized, Confirmed and who demonstrate sufficient maturity to distribute the Body and Blood od Christ at Mass are welcome to join this ministry. You will assist the Presider at Mass with the distribution of the Eucharist.

Another aspect of this ministry is to distribute communion to the homebound or patients in nursing homes and hospitals. We do require that you attend specific training sessions should you be eligible to participate.

Lectors

Our ministry is for those parishioners who want to proclaim the Word of God at Masses. We offer classes and study guides to anyone in good standing with the Church who would like to serve in this ministry.

Altar Servers

Altar servers must be in the fourth grade through high school and be interested in serving at the Lord’s Table for Mass and other Liturgical services. They are trained, assigned to a team, and scheduled by the altar server coordinator. They are usually scheduled on a rotating basis so they must be flexible as to which Mass they will attend.

Altar serving requires a commitment on the part of the server as well as their families. In addition to regular weekend masses, they serve at Christmas, Thanksgiving, Confirmation, First Eucharist, Weddings, Stations of the Cross, and other special services. Anyone who is interested in serving should contact the parish office.

Sacristans

This is a group of men and women who assist in the preparation of the Sanctuary for all Masses, Sacraments, Funerals, and other liturgical functions. The Sacristans clean the sacred vessels, clean the sanctuary, and assist in directing Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and Altar Servers.

Music Ministry

This is a wonderful way to give thanksgiving to God for the talent you have been given. Our parish music ministry is always welcoming new members to join our choirs. These ministries provide the opportunity for adults and children to learn and develop choir-singing skills. Reading music is not required. Please consider offering your vocal and instrumental talents to enhance our prayer and worship.

The Adult Choir and Children’s Choirs meet weekly for rehearsals from Fall through Spring. Other opportunities will also be forthcoming.

Charismatic Prayer Group

This prayer group meets every Tuesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Holy Family room of the Church. A “Charismatic Prayer Meeting” is a weekly gathering of Christians to give praise, thanks, honor, and love to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is a time we gather to praise God one to one and at a community level as the Holy Spirit moves us.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

At the end of the introductory rite, the children are dismissed for their own Liturgy of the Word. They hear and discuss the readings at a level that is appropriate for their age. We hope that by sharing God’s inspired words with them at their level that they will be touched and inspired.

The Seven Sacraments

An efficacious sign of grace, instituted by Christ, and entrusted to the Church which He established. These are rooted in Sacred Scripture and are special encounters with the Lord at various stages of our faith journey. Every Sacrament uses both matter and form – the materials used and the words pronounced. They are seven by definition:

    • Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist
    • Sacraments of Healing – Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick
    • Sacraments of Service – Matrimony, Holy Orders
